News » Bayern Munich in Dubai
Bayern Munich has resumed its preparation for the second half of the Bundesliga with its training camp in Dubai. After having arrived early morning yesterday to the reception of its Iranian player Ali Karimi, the team had its first training session in the afternoon.
Today's outings included a heavy morning and afternoon session. The morning session was more of a strenous physical program including weight balls and various exercise drills. The afternoon session also begun with some strength exercises and ended with a full-sided scrimmage. Karimi lacked the fitness that he had worked so hard to achieve during the season after having made full use of his trip to Iran and giving in to the temptation of everyday persian cuisine.
Karimi looked drained by the end of the afternoon session and had acquired a small knock on his ankle. As he was leaving the ground, Karimi tied some ice around his ankle with his sock and made his way to the bus heading back to the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, the hotel hosting Bayern Munich.
In regards to the upcoming game versus Perspolis, we contacted Abolfazl Jalali, Karimi's manager, to obtain Ali's views about the encounter. Karimi commented: "I am delighted to travel to Iran and face my former club. However, right now I am wearing the Bayern jersey and I will be playing against Perspolis as a Bayern player. I sincerely hope that my teammates will enjoy the experience of warm iranian hospitality during this trip."
