Ali Karimi being followed by Ismael after he scores a goal against Rapid ViennaIn his first appearance for Bayern Munich in the European Champions League, Ali Karimi managed to score a sensational goal. The home crowd witnessed Bayern earn a deserved 4 - 0 victory at a packed Allianz Arena.

Bayern dominated the match from the start and got on the score sheet with a drive by Sebastian Deisler on the 21st minute. Bayern continued to press forward to increase the lead. It took until the second half, on the 54th minute when Shweinsteiger's corner kick flew into the box surpassing a number of players before Ali Karimi masterfully chest-trapped the ball and executed a brilliant left footed volley to increase the lead to two goals. Karimi later released Shweinsteiger on the left flank in the 72nd minute and the young Bayern star provided a great assist to the Dutch striker, Roy Makaay who put the ball in the back of the net with a nicely placed side footer.  Makaay added his second in the 76th minute by rounding the keeper and slotting the ball into the back of the net to complete the rout of the Austrian visitors.

Karimi played 82 minutes before being subbed off the field.  Karimi's first appearance in the European Champions League was marked as a success with his goal.
