News » Ali Karimi Comments on Hertha Game
In our correspondence with Karimi, we asked him to talk about his third Bundesliga outing with the Bavarians against Hertha Berlin at the Allianz Arena.
He began by describing his general experience in representing Bayern. “The teams that line up against Bayern Munich are extremely motivated and value the importance of a victory or even obtaining a single point against Bayern. This is the reason why every Bayern game is difficult to play. The opposition vigorously resists until conceding the first goal. I have yet to mold with the team and I am specifically unfamiliar with the nitty-gritty details of playing in the Bundesliga. For this reason, every time that I step out on the field, I attempt to carefully fulfill the coach’s demands. I am also attempting to become more familiar with such a system of play and representing a club like Bayern which is covered by world-renowned media agencies.”
Karimi proceeded to comment on the Hertha game: “In this game, I expended most of my energy on a defensive role and on making defensive runs followed by forward runs to support the attack. Magath had requested that I be cautious going forward and to focus more on aiding the defense. In addition, the defenders would continuously make offensive runs forcing me to cover for them in the back.”
Bayern Munich has taken the day off to rest and will resume its tactical training from tomorrow to prepare for its upcoming games against 1.FC Nürnberg and Rapid Vienna. Bayern will be kicking-off its Champions League campaign against the team from Austria.
